Many people live their lives in a constant state of anxiety, fear, and even terror, all these are counterproductive to the operation of the subconscious mind. Worry and fear are powerful negative emotions. When you worry or fear, you are implanting negative images into the subconscious, which is very dangerous. All this often causes health issues.
Dr. John Sarno, author of Healing Back Pain:
The Mind-Body Connection, estimates that nearly 80 percent of his patients suffer from tension myositis syndrome (TMS)—inflammation of muscle tissue caused by emotional or psychological stress. His theory is that the subconscious, in an effort to distract the mind from painful repressed emotions, reduces blood flow to certain parts of the body (which vary from patient to patient), causing diverse physical conditions that the patient can focus on instead. After Dr. Sarno teaches the patient how to calm the mind (sometimes with the help of affirmations), the symptoms (in 80 percent of his patients) disappear. In addition to back pain, Dr. Sarno links TMS to immune system conditions (including allergies and asthma), various coronary diseases (including high blood pressure and heart palpitations), headaches/migraines, gastrointestinal issues, cancer, and more.
Fear and worry function in a similar way to negatively impact the ability to build wealth. For example, in the stock market, investors often lose a significant portion of their assets due to loss aversion—a fear of loss during a market downturn that leads the investor to sell shares at the worst possible time. Fear and worry also increase a person’s aversion to risk. It may, for example, discourage a person from buying a more expensive house, even though it would be a better long-term investment than a more affordable dwelling.
Risk aversion may also discourage someone from starting a new business, accepting a new position at work with greater responsibility, or investing in a brilliant invention or business venture. All you need to do is examine the richest and most successful people in the world, and you can see that a large majority of them are optimists with a large appetite for risk.
“Everything you want is on the other side of fear.” -Jack Canfield
Thoughts and Feelings Create Destiny
“As a person thinks in her heart or subconscious, so is she,” so does she act, so does she experience, so does she express. This is Cosmic Law.
It’s not about thinking in the head but thinking in the “heart”—what you truly believe subconsciously. Whatever is impressed there is expressed. Remember, when you are dealing with your subconscious you are dealing with the power of the Almighty. It’s the power that moves the world. It’s the power that moves the galaxies in space. There is nothing to oppose It.
Consciousness is the only Creative Power in your life. Your consciousness is the union of your conscious and subconscious mind. It’s the sum total of your acceptances, beliefs, opinions, and convictions. It is the only Divine Being you’ll ever know. Your thoughts and feelings create your destiny. If you think “poor” you will always be poor. Think “prosperity” and you will prosper. Your thought and feeling are the creators of all your experience. Whatever your conscious and subconscious mind (your brain and your heart) agree, it’s going to happen whether it’s true or false, good or bad. You are the one who is choosing. You mold and fashion your own destiny. Your faith in the Divine is your fortune.
“I work Very Hard” but Still Fail (Real Story)
A man shared to Joseph Murphy that he wanted to succeed and advance in life, but he really didn’t want to. He had a subconscious pattern of failure. He had a sense of guilt and felt he should be punished. With his conscious mind, yes, he worked very hard. And he said to himself, in his intellect, “I work very hard.” But in his deeper mind, he was programmed and conditioned to fail. He had a sense of unworthiness and a belief that compelled him to fail. He had a picture of failing in his mind. And he felt he should be punished, that he was a sinner.
The law of your subconscious is compulsive. It is the Prime Mover, Almighty Power, Divine Power. This man learned to reprogram his mind by realizing that he was born to win, born to succeed, born to triumph. Infinite power is within each of us, which does not know the failure. It’s Almighty. It created all things. Nothing exists to oppose It, challenge It, thwart It.
Furthermore, he learned he was punishing himself. To reverse course, every day, morning, noon, and night, he affirmed the following:
I am born to win. I am born to succeed in my spiritual life, my relationships with people, my chosen work, and all phases of my life. For the Infinite is within me, and the Infinite cannot fail. It’s the power of the Almighty moving through me. It’s my strength, It’s my power, my wisdom. Success is mine. Harmony is mine. Wealth is mine. Beauty is mine. Divine Love is mine. Abundance is mine.
He repeated these truths. He reflected upon them. Also, he reminded himself driving along the road before he went in to see a customer. He announced these truths regularly and systematically, and he didn’t deny what he affirmed.
Gradually, he became a tremendous success, because he succeeded in transforming his subconscious mind into a positive-energy generator through repetition, affirming his inner strength and wisdom; claiming success, harmony, wealth, and abundance; and recognizing his oneness with Supreme Being. As you do this regularly and systematically, wonders will happen in your life. (Inspired from ‘Grow Rich with the Power of Your Subconscious Mind’ by Joseph Murphy).
