A wish! Each of us wants to accomplish our wishes. But Is there any perfect way to accomplish those wishes? Though I have read many books on the power of the subconscious mind, just a few days back while reading ‘The Genie within: Your Subconscious Mind’ by Harry Carpenter, I came across one astonishing concept to accomplish wishes or goals. It was sort of Eureka moment for me. Immediately I shared that with one of my family members and two other friends.
After listening to this concept, one of my friends shared and co-related his life’s real incidents with it! You are going to find it at the end of this blog.
The writer suggests one booklet ‘It Works’ as a reference to understand this whole concept, which goes like
IT WORKS!
It Works is the title of a four- by six-inch, 25-page booklet. The author claims he could write 350 normal-sized pages on the subject but the gist can easily be described in only a few pages. The author claims he is well known (he only gives his initials, R.H.J.) and he owes much of his success to the “It Works” method. This method does work and it is easy. Your genie does the work.
The method is this:
Step 1
Write down the things and conditions you want on three-inch by five-inch cards. Write each on a separate card.
Be specific. Be descriptive. If you want money, write down how much you want. If you want a car, write down the make, model, and color. As you write this down, imagine yourself driving the car…smell the upholstery…kick the tires…and so on. Attach emotion to your words as you write them down. You even might sketch a picture of the thing you want.
Do not be timid. Do not hesitate to want too much. Amend your cards as necessary.
The author recommends a limit of three cards. Since the subconscious mind can do trillions of things at a time, this limit may be unnecessary. The number of cards you use is up to you.
Step 2
The author says to read the list early in the morning and late at night. He probably picked that up from Emile Couè (a French psychologist and pharmacist who introduced a popular method of psychotherapy and self-improvement based on optimistic autosuggestion). Whether the author or Couè, knew it or not, they are telling you to read the cards while you are in the alpha state. Do not look at them while you are in the beta state (when you are completely awake, very busy, and aware of many things). Your conscious mind will probably be critical and thoughts of failure may arise.
(The alpha state is characterized by a brain wave frequency of 8 to 13 cycles per second. You naturally go into the alpha state many times each day, but usually only fleetingly. Occasionally you may hover in this state. You would recognize it as daydreaming. Perhaps at one time or another, you became bored, for example, standing in a slow line. You stared but your concentration was not on the thing you were staring at. Your mind was someplace else. You were in alpha. The alpha state is referred to as the “meditative” state—a state of relaxed, focused concentration. When you are in this state, you lose track of time. You may have stared at the wall for five minutes, but you think, incorrectly, you were staring at the wall for only a few seconds.)
Now coming to my Eureka moment i.e. step-3 & Step-4.
Step 3
Keep your desires to yourself & do not share them with anybody. Sharing only dilutes the power in the subconscious mind and invites criticism and doubt. It also puts unnecessary pressure on you to succeed. Remember, any fear of failure will likely override the will to succeed. (Fear is one of the dominating emotions and has a direct connection to your subconscious mind.)
Step 4
Do not tell your subconscious mind how to do it.
That’s it. Simple but powerful.
It works! And it is easy!
Professional Experience
#1. A large aerospace company where Harry Carpenter worked bought an expensive program for their employees. The program was designed to help employees achieve goals. It was a good program with lessons, slides, tapes, etc. The presentations helped you analyze yourself and select suitable goals. But the bottom line was this:
Once you have determined what your goals are, write them on 3” x 5” cards, one goal per card. Read your cards first thing in the morning and the last thing at night. Do not share them with anybody. Do not tell yourself how to accomplish your goals. Sound familiar?
#2. Another man must have also made a fortune selling this method. About 25 years ago he ran full-page ads in major cities in the country. The title was A Lazy Man’s Way to Riches. His spiel was mail order selling. But to achieve the success he gave these instructions: Write your goals on 3” x 5” cards, one goal per card. Read your cards just after you wake up in the morning and just before you go to sleep. Do not share them with anybody. Do not tell your subconscious mind how to accomplish your goals.
Real-Life Personal Experience
My friend was working in his home city at the moderate package. He was willing to increase his salary but things were not moving in the right direction. After some time, he got one interview call from one reputed company in another city. He went there for the interview and cleared that, for a three times higher salary. He was quite happy with the quick and wishful change.
Later someday, his father, who used to meditate every day in the evening, shared the background story about his new job. His father was well aware of the power of the subconscious mind (SCM). During meditation state, he asks his SCM to provide a good job to his son. It took around one year time to fulfill his wish.
After some time my friend moved back to his home city with an even better working profile & package. This time again his father’s SCM was behind this movement. How? As shared by his father to him, my friend narrated that my father wanted a good job for me by his SCM, but at that time he was not asked for the location of that job.
When his son moved to other cities for the job, at that time he realized it. As he along with his wife, were planning to move to U. S. with his daughter there, so he again asked his SCM to provide a job to his son in his home city.
And you know It Works! And this time within three months wish was fulfilled.
His father never shared his wish to even his son, till that wish was fulfilled. He later shared his philosophy as deciding clear goals, ask your SCM to fulfill them when you are in meditation (when your SCM is in a more powerful stage), and do not share with anybody till those goals are achieved. Have faith & do not tell your SCM the way to accomplish these wishes.
My friend was so much fascinated by these pleasant experiences. He missed his caring father so much.
I have shared my own personal experiences with subconscious power in the blog ‘Life Experience with Subconscious Power’.
